ABOUT US
Meet the founder
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Toraé’s unique design perspective was shaped early on by her rich cultural surroundings. With a lifelong passion for creating the “WOW” factor—whether in people, spaces, or experiences—she has always been drawn to the art of transformation.
Toraé began her creative journey as an event planner, owning and operating her own company. From fashion shows to corporate gatherings, milestone birthdays to weddings, she brought visions to life with flair and attention to detail. Though she loved curating experiences, she realized that her true passion wasn’t in the planning—it was in the design.
After earning a B.A. in Organizational Communication from Rollins College, Toraé entered the corporate world, building a successful career in Human Resources. It was during her time at a major retailer, surrounded by ever-changing home trends, that she had her “aha” moment: she was meant to design. Inspired and reenergized, she followed her calling and launched Modern Glam Designs, an interior design firm based in Kissimmee, Florida.
After more than eight successful years of transforming homes and spaces across Florida, Toraé relocated to Montclair, New Jersey, where she is now the proud owner and Principal Designer of Lenore King Luxury Interiors.
Her current portfolio includes everything from new builds and model apartments to community clubhouses, vacation homes, and residential kitchen and bath renovations. Through each project, Toraé remains committed to bringing her clients' visions to life—with elegance, purpose, and that signature touch of glamour.
